Our Story.

After more than a decade in PE and working with executives, our founders observed a clear pain point in the market. Nearly every investment firm utilized an assessment tool but very few of these firms had much confidence in the assessment results. Why? Because these assessment tools lacked three elements that investors wanted: 

a.) quantified results,
b.) a focus on the behaviors that matter most in the investor-backed space, and
c.) a configurable profile for each fund’s governance model.

As a result, we created The Crucible, the only performance research tool built for investors. Today, The Crucible is utilized by leading private equity and venture capital firms to help strengthen and improve their operating and portfolio company teams. These clients leverage pinpoint insights into how an individual is likely to perform under the weight of a investor-backed mandate, and how that individual’s profile fits their specific governance model.
